Work in progress, Chinnamastaa

Chinnamastaa is one of the ten characteristics of the Goddess Durga. She is usually sitting on the god of love Madana in sexual intercourse with his lover Rati. The whole image represents the unification of creation, sex and death, all equally necessary parts of the manifested Universe. Here Chinnamastaa is sitting on an empty bed to show that the balance of life and sex is lost and death is all there is.

A very naughty cat

Murray chewed the cable of my rather expensive Wacom tablet because he was home alone for one weekend. Unfortunately despite Andreas' effort to cut it and try to reconnect all the wires inside it will take weeks until Wacom fixes it. I hate having to rely on technology so much.

Old books

I want to make a mini theater set for my final project and I thought old pop-up books might give me some ideas. Most of these were colored by hand. The third one has some kind of weird mechanism that makes sounds. It is exiting working on my last ever University project and it is not going to be digital for a change.

Edward Gorey

I bought Edward Gorey's book 'Amphigorey' from Dave's Comics today. Most of the stories are really sad but I like that. Also I wish I could draw like that!
